What are Trading Alerts?
Watch this video to learn about Plus500’s trading alerts, which you can use to stay up to date on various trade updates or events.
Trading alerts can be requested for events related to your account, such as a margin call1, and used to notify you of market events on your favourite instruments.
What are alerts?
Alerts are a free tool offered to traders that inform them of events which may be related to their trades.
Activating alerts via Email, SMS, and push notifications gives traders the freedom to remain informed of critical events, even when they are not logged into their accounts. These simple and helpful notifications allow traders to remain in-the-know about their account balance, instrument events, and trading updates when it matters most.
Now, with alerts, traders can take advantage of market events without needing to continuously check the charts.
What types of alerts are there?
Alerts are a free service that allows traders to receive up to date information on instruments without needing to remain signed in. These free alerts can inform traders of:
- Price Alerts - When an instrument reaches a specified price.
- Change Percentage - A daily or hourly notification of an instrument’s price movement.
- Traders’ Sentiments2 - Updates on the percentage of buyers vs. sellers.
- Account Activity - When you open or close a position.
- Margin Call1 - When the account’s equity is getting close to the total maintenance margin requirement.
See our Alerts page to learn more about Plus500 alerts.
When will I be notified?
Traders who request alerts can be notified hourly, daily, or on an as-needed basis, depending on how they set up their alerts.
Alerts can be delivered via Email, SMS, push and/or in-app notification. This allows for traders to never miss a beat and remain up-to-date on their favourite instruments without having to continuously check in on their phone or desktop charts.1It is the trader’s responsibility to monitor their account balance to ensure sufficient funds to maintain their open positions. Alerts are an aiding tool and should not be relied upon to make trading decisions.
2The Traders’ Sentiments feature is dependent on local operators.
