What is Stellar?

Stellar Lumens (XLMUSD) cryptocurrency is a peer-to-peer (p2p) decentralised and open blockchain platform founded in 2014 by Ripple Co-founder, Jed McCaleb, making it among the oldest crypto ecosystems. It provides fast and inexpensive cross-border transactions by uniting the world's financial infrastructure. Stellar is supported by a nonprofit organization called the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF). Lumens or XLM are used as an intermediary currency and transaction fees.
